This year, Tapalou Guilds turns TEN and are excited to welcome people to the farm to celebrate. We turned a corn field field into a beautiful oasis of textured gardens filled with birds and other beings. We’d love to share it with people.

Join us for a delightful Cut Flower Garden workshop and garden tour. On Saturday, June 6th from 10-1 we’ll host folks on our farm to learn about our cut flower growing process. We’ll meander around our farm showing how we start seeds, prep our beds, transplant, care for and harvest our cut blooms. We’ll also share a bit about our perennial food forest, vegetable production and general guild of endeavors.

Hanna will answer people’s gardening and design questions and Andy will highlight the work he’s done on the land with perennials and building infrastructure. We do everything by hand on the farm and we’ll share our favorite gardening tools and practices.

The beginning of June is prime time to get your cut flower garden planted. The danger of frost has passed, the soil is warmed enough to plant dahlia tubers and the early Summer perennials are starting to bloom while our early Spring greenhouse flowers are well underway . June is my favorite time on the farm, with my favorite flowers! We still have tulips, the ranunculus are in their full glory, the anemone show off their simple beauty, the baptisia are in their divinity and everything is bustling with life.

People can reserve cut flower starts from some of our favorite tried and true varieties and purchase dahlia tubers. In addition, we will make bouquets highlighting our favorite late Spring and early Summer flowers. Light refreshments and snacks available to follow with a leisurely hang out in the orchard.

Ticket price includes workshop,  a bouquet made by participants and one dahlia tuber. Seedling packs and dahlia tubers available for purchase. Seedling packs reserved and purchased separately, dahlia purchases can be made day of. Space is limited so reserve your ticket early. There are two pricing tiers, please pay what feels right to you.
